I have several options available for you to consider and different mediums and painting surfaces have different challenges and so have my pricing broken down accordingly. All pet portraits on canvas will have a solid colored while the colored pencil portraits will be left with a white background. ACRYLIC ON CANVAS- All canvas portraits are painted using acrylic paints and will be sealed when completed with a glossy varnish. I finish the back of the canvas with a black cloth dust cover and install hanging wire. You will receive a signed certificate of authenticity with each piece of art. All canvases have 1.5 inch painted sides. This allows you the ability to either hang the art on the wall or display it on a shelf. It can take up to 4 weeks plus shipping time before you will receive your artwork. Please keep that in mind when considering giving this as a gift for a special occasion. Estimated Shipping Costs-are $25 in the USA and $35 internationally. DIGITAL OR COLOR PENCIL DRAWING ON PAPER- I love to draw and my favorite mediums are color pencil or using my iPad to create digital art. The end result is a beautiful piece of art that has a whimsical feel. I use a acid free art paper for all my drawings and I matte them bevel cut matte board. I also use acid free tape and adhesive to attach the art inside the matte. The completed artwork will be protected inside the matte but caution should always be taken when handling the artwork. Only pick up the drawing on the edges of the matte with clean hands and never touch the drawing itself.
You will receive a signed certificate of authenticity for each drawing. Drawing size will be 8 x 10 and that will be matted to an 11 x 14 size. Pencil art should be displayed in a frame under glass so that will be an added expense to consider. (I love the selection that Hobby Lobby has and every other week their glass frames are 50% off) Estimated Shipping Costs-in the USA is $5 and $25 for international shipping. (I am not responsible to know the custom fees that your country may charge) I ship using USPS first class mail and you will receive a tracking number for the package.
I can also use your commission drawing to design special coffee mugs, t-shirts, note cards and stickers for a small design fee. An additional invoice will be sent to consider the costs of these extra items. This can such makes a great unique gift. Price for 1 pet Price for 2 pets 8 x 10 inches- $150 $250

The All Important Reference Photos
I am not a magician and so I can't paint or draw anything that I am not able to see in the photo you provide to me. That is why it is so important that you take several photos in preferable natural lighting such as from a window. Once I look at the photos we talk about which one is the best for me to use. Remember, if the photo is dark and blurry, then your artwork will be also. They say that the "Eyes are the window of the soul" and are one of the most important features of a pet portrait. I would like, if possible, to have a closeup photo of your pets eyes so that I am able to better match the eye colors and the details. Here is a link to a wonderful blog by Jill Nystul called "How to Take Great Photos of Your Pets". This blog has great information and I encourage you to read this blog post before you take your pictures.
Background Color
The background color you choose for the canvas art is important. I like to paint a dark background often if the subject is light colored or if there are a lot of highlights on the fur. If your pet has dark colored fur then a light background will help him or her stand out in the portrait. I also suggest that the color be either a neutral color or a shade of a color already found in the portrait itself. For example a color in the collar or in the fur.
