Julie is a long-time Nevada resident and award winning artist with a passion for western landscapes. Self-taught, her favorite subjects to paint often pertain to the state of Nevada and serve as a tribute to the strength and tenacity of those that chose to scratch out an existence by either mining or ranching in conditions that were far from ideal. Her work was featured in the March/April 2013 edition of "Gold Prospectors" magazine where you can see that she has blended her husband's passion for prospecting and her love of painting have created perfect creative harmony.
Her favorite mediums are acrylic and oil and she switches often between the two. She has a style that she has developed that is both includes both an impressionistic flavor and yet at the same time, her subjects contain an undeniable realism. Colorful and moving, Julie brings her paintings alive with her bold strokes and thick paint.
Always a country girl at heart, Julie has always loved exploring the desert and learning about the rich history that this state has to offer Since relocating from Central Missouri to Southern Nevada in 1978, Julie has visited a number of ghost towns and points of interest. She has a personal goal of wanting to visit every ghost town in the state.
